Christmas shopping...

As you may have discovered Christmas is near and if you haven't yet done your christmas shopping you better get started..

This year I started yearly but only because we had lost of little old ladies coming in to the shop early November asking for stocking fillers and by end November they had me stressed out - thinking I should be doing my shopping too!!!

Anyway, I started early and every drawer and cupboard in my house is hiding presents. The only problem with starting early is that now I can't remember where most of the presents are let alone what and to whom I have bought!!! I think I will have to get it all out one night when the kids are sound asleep and then write down what I have and what I need to get....

Christmas is coming....

We have been mega busy here in the shop creating wonderful things for Christmas.. and we are still at it...

At this very moment, I have boys fleeces in the millions on my worktable, just waiting to be assembled and they are looking great...

I always find it very exiting working out the fabric combinations for the first one..

Today and yesterday I have been busy adding the new Smafolk collection to our website and there are as always, some fab t-shirts. Also check out the balaclavas from Smafolk, perfect for winter as they are double layered cotton and they don't itch as many hats do.

New tights and leggins are also on the way from Denmark and we will ofcourse be adding them too.

Also still lots of reduced items from Smafolk, Phister and Phelina, Katvig, Freoli, IdaT and many more, all perfect as Christmas presents..

Today most of England's children school start their school holiday.

In my search for what to do with my two kids this half term I came across some good sites and would like to share them with you..

www.enjoyengland.com is one of them. Look under interests and then family fun.
They give you tons of ideas for great breaks or just days out, whether you fancy the seaside or a woodland walk.
http://www.timeout.com/london/ is another website great for letting you know what is going on in London.

Follow this link and you will find a list of 10 cheap things to do at half term compiled by Alison Hunt http://www.lovemoney.com/news/ways-to-save/10-cheap-things-to-do-this-half-term-2428.aspx
She has got some great ideas, things that I did not know existed...

My daughter has discovered the joy of cake making (she is a 6 yrs old miss independent..) she single handed finds and mixes all the ingredients ending up with a lovely cake. If your child loves cooking and baking have a look at these websites www.verybestbaking.com and http://www.chsugar.com/familyfun/baking.html

Christmas is lurking around the corner (I know...scary..) so we headed to the NEC in Birmingham this week to see what we could find for the shop...

After walking several miles around this huge fair we can announce that we have some fab products coming..

One of the things that we loved the most was the
self assemble T-Rex lamp - super cool for kids rooms...

Should be arriving soon and we will off course add it to the website as soon as it does.

Another fab find was these gorgeous french toys - a bit on the expensive side but worth the money and really nice quality.

Other finds include stocking fillers from Rex and these fun memo boards, ideal for jotting down all the little things you need to remember or for kids rooms.

It can hang almost anywhere so it is always close at hand.

Chalky comes with everything you need.

Holly's is coming to Bibi Klamer

New brand arriving to www.bibiklamer.com

Holly's is nostalgic Danish design.
Holly was born in 2002 and has grown steadily ever since.

The four-leaf clover is an icon from the seventies which they have give new life, new colours and new design.

Holly's started as baby wear with baby grows and underwear for babies, now it also includes styles for junior and mum.

New designs and accessories arises from Holly's fantasy every season. The fantasy is fuelled by continuous travel, because Holly loves to travel and is often off on adventures. On her way Holly meets new people and impressions - all experiences which inspire Holly's world.

We will off course add the collection to our website the minute it arrives.
I am sure you will love their new collection as much as we do...

Summer Holiday...

My kids (two, age 9 and 5) break up on Friday 17th of July and as most parents I am slightly dreading it....
Our plan is to take our old beloved VW camper and tour around the country (haven't quite decided if we are going to the Lakes, Wales or Somerset..) but I must say in reality 7 weeks is a long time for me and my other half to sleep in our small 1 1/2 man bed, squashed up against a cold window, while listening to his snoring and worrying about the rain coming in....BUT the kids love it.....

2 years ago (same year the dog had a bad tummy and decided to do his dirty in the middle of the camper while zooming up the motorway) we was driving round Wales and it was lovely until engine broke down and we had to get towed back to Yorkshire, kids still talking about it!..

Last year we nearly made it to Somerset when the fan belt went but we had to keep going as we were going up a hill with a massive lorry behind us.
When we pulled over the engine was knacked and totally dead!
We rang the AA and me and kids put the kettle on and did some drawing while hubby went off searching for some lunch...
We got towed to Somerset (closer than Yorkshire..) where we have some very good Friends we could stay with.
We now had to try and get the camper fixed and head back up to Yorkshire...(As far as I recall it was also a bank holiday week end so not much chance of finding a garage with a new engine..)
Our friend suggested we call the local garage to see if they could help and you never guess what!!!
One of the lads there had a VW beetle. He had bought a new engine for it but was not going to replace it yet but when he heard about our "problem" he offered to take the engine out of his beetle, sell it to us and fit it in our camper - on a bank holiday weekend! How lucky is that?

We left the old (broken) engine with our friend and posted it on Ebay, thinking that maybe some clever guy could strip it down and rebuild it....We sold it a week later....

We did make it back home but I must admit, while packing the camper today I do wonder how far we will make it this time.......

What a fantastic flower....

I saw this plant on the internet while looking for something sturdy that would survive on my windy balcony...
Its called 'Ruby Moon' Hyacinth Bean and its beautiful...
I ordered the seeds and got both my kids making newspaper plant pots. (They are free, fun to make, recycled and biodegradeable)
http://www.feesworld.com/how2make/paperpots/index.html
With some water and sunshine the plants started to grow and I got really exited as this is the first time I have grown anything from seed...
I have now moved the plants outside in big pots and they are doing really well.
I shall keep you informed of their progress and also add some pictures.. This truly is a plant that we should all know of....its fantastic...

Smafolk

The Danish children's clothes range from Smafolk is just fab.. We have been stocking the label for a few years now and the brand just gets better and better. The quality is fantastic and the clothes outlast the children and is being passed on to the next child. Our customers (adults and kids..)keep coming back when the new range hits the shelves. The adults says it washes brilliantly and the kids says it really soft - what could be more perfect?

We will be ordering the new collection soon and I am sure, as always, it will be brilliant..

Wednesday 1 July 2009

Welcome to our first post.
Last week was the fashion tradefair in London and we got on our train early Sunday morning. The collections we were looking at was for next summer (yes it took me a while to get my head around that one..).
We arrived there and had the brilliant idea that we would fly through the fair and then hit the shops (having escaped my two kids, I was eager to have the day to myself.) Anyway such was not my luck. We spent far too long gaping over lovely children's clothes and did not leave the fair until all the shops had pretty much closed...arghhh.
After getting over our dissapontment we found a lovely Tapas bar and had a bite to eat before heading back to sunny Yorkshire.... such was our day out in London...
I must add though that we have got loads of lovely clothes coming from Smafolk, Molo, Minymo, Phister and Phelina, Cupcake and Littlehorn to mention a few.
We were also very exited about a french company who makes the most gorgeous fabric suitcases in loads of colours suitable for kids or adults.... Keep an eye on our website www.bibiklamer.com
for new products and make sure to sign up for the newletters and special discount dates.
